TRIANGLE L RANCH
It’s time to get ready for GLOW 2017! This year we celebrate a lucky, 13 years of GLOW! - a Nighttime Art Experience.
This year’s dates are:
Saturday, September 9, 2017
Saturday, September 30, 2017
Friday, October 6, 2017
Saturday, October 7, 2017
We always want GLOW! to be an incredible experience. We’re out there now working the paths, generating new ideas and installations, and coming up with ways to make this a magical experience for our friends to savor & envelop...and come away with a little joy and hope in their hearts. As artists and performers, we ask you to come experience and share that with us!
This year we’re keeping things going by turning the Adobe Barn Gallery into a full time workshop for artists and volunteers. Come get inspired, or come if you need help. We can maybe create a workshop around your piece.
Call to Artists and Performers applications are attached below as both a PDF and Word document. The deadline for applications is July 1, 2017 and deadline for art installation and final testing is the evening of Sunday, August 27, 2017. The PDF and Word applications is also available online at the bottom of the GLOW! page on the
Some basic need to know info:
ARTISTS - artwork needs to be WEATHERPROOF and remain functional through all the nights of GLOW! It needs to be durable and flick-a-switchable. This eliminates the need for staff to tend the piece. As soon as your application is accepted you may begin working on your piece, as well as, bringing it out to test and install. The Adobe Barn Gallery is an option for illuminated 2-D and work better suited to an indoor environment, but space is limited.
NON-MUSCIAL PERFORMANCES - we encourage illuminated, outside the box, performances by individuals and troupes. How about a dance in an illuminated costume on a rock outcropping or impromptu stage, fire, poi, hula hoops, electric/light shows, dramatic performances, blacksmiths…talk to us! We already have spaces all around the ranch that are special to us and we’d like to pair the perfect space to your performance. If you’re stuck, we have some ideas we can share with you.
MUSICAL PERFORMANCES – please contact us at glow@triangleLranch.com and let us know about your musical group, video links, sound links, or websites. We love all types of music, but because of performance space constraints and sound overlaps between musical performances, we are limiting to mostly unplugged, acoustic or quiet experimental music in smaller designated venues throughout the park, and one danceable/performance-driven, upbeat sounds each night for the main stage.
Do you have a vision and need some help making/transporting/installing? We will help in any way we can to accommodate you and assist you if you need it. We will be scheduling free GLOW! workshops and work parties, and will be out there ourselves creating and completing the GLOW! grounds and installations. Help us with our dream of a fabulous GLOW! and art park and we we’ll do whatever we can to assist you in translating your ideas into reality. We are all about collaboration, community participation, providing opportunities for artists, and creating a more magical wonderland for us to share and enjoy. We believe this is important work and appreciate your support in any way possible. If you’re constrained by budget, let us know and see what we can help in terms of compensation or materials.
If you are willing to loan, ‘exhibit for sale’, or donate a piece to the Ranch Land park…let us know. Additionally, we have ongoing opportunities for artist residencies, workshops, and exhibitions on the Adobe Gallery and Sculpture Park. Contact us for further application information.
VOLUNTEER FOR GLOW- Let us know which date works best for you and we will be in touch to schedule. Just commit to 2-3 fun hours of volunteering, and enjoy the rest of that night for free. Email Jim Pollack at firstname.lastname@example.org if you, or someone you know is interested.
We look forward to hearing from you and, as always, a heartfelt thank you for your support!
